Privacy

Reframely is built so your scripts stay on your devices. Here's exactly what goes where.

Your scripts

Scripts, settings and clicker assignments are saved in your browser's local storage on each device. They aren't uploaded to a Reframely server, and there are no accounts. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Reframely Pro passcodes

Reframely Pro uses a passcode instead of an account. The passcode and the name you chose are checked in your browser and remembered there; we don't keep a list of users. Payments are handled by Stripe on its own pages, so we never see your card. Stripe sends us a receipt with the email you gave it.

The phone remote

When you pair a remote, the two devices find each other through public Nostr relays. Every message is encrypted with a key derived from your pairing code, and the relays forward these messages without storing them. Relay operators can see that encrypted messages pass through, and when, but not what they say. The devices then open a direct WebRTC connection when they're on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot; no other server is involved, not Google's, not Cloudflare's, not ours. Once direct, commands and script text go phone to phone.

Voice follow

Voice follow uses your browser's speech recognition. In Chrome, the audio is sent to Google's speech service to be transcribed; other browsers may use their own services. Reframely doesn't record or store audio.

Offline use

After your first visit, Reframely saves its own files in your browser so it opens with no internet. Offline pairing sends the connection details between your devices as QR codes; nothing goes through the internet.
