What people use Reframely for
Setups and script tips for the most common reasons people reach for a teleprompter.
Getting the setup right
Most teleprompter problems come from three things: the text is too far from the lens, it moves at the wrong speed, or it is too small to read without squinting. Keep the reading line just under the camera, start at about 140 words a minute and adjust, and make the text big enough that you can read it from where you will sit or stand.
Write the way you speak. Short sentences and one idea per line are easier to read aloud and sound less like reading. Split long scripts into sections with # headings, so you can jump back for a retake.
Before you record
Read the script out loud once. Where you stumble, rewrite the line; where you run out of breath, add a full stop. Then record.
Pick the control that fits the job
- Steady speed for short, polished reads such as intros and adverts.
- A clicker or foot pedal for talks, demos and courses, where you pause often.
- Voice follow for long scripts and natural delivery: it waits when you stop.
- A phone remote when someone else runs the script, or the screen is out of reach in a rig.
Each guide above has a setup for that kind of recording, and a walkthrough you can watch first.
