A free teleprompter for Windows
Run Reframely in Edge or Chrome on a Windows laptop, desktop or tablet. Put the text right under your webcam for recordings, or use a Windows tablet in a glass rig.
Step by step: read under your webcam
- Choose Laptop or desktop webcam. This preset puts a narrow column of text right under the camera, with the reading line near the top, so your eyes stay close to the lens.
- Keep it narrow and close to the lens. The shorter the distance between the words and the camera, the more it looks like you’re talking to the viewer. Keep the text small enough to read without leaning in.
- Run it beside your call or recorder. Zoom, Meet, Teams, OBS or QuickTime keep running underneath. Control the scroll with the keyboard, a clicker, a Stream Deck or your phone.
For webcam recordings
- Open Reframely in Edge or Chrome and start the prompter.
- Choose Your rig → Laptop or desktop webcam: a narrow, centered column with the reading line at the top, close to the camera.
- Make the browser window narrow and drag it just under your webcam.
- Control it with the keyboard (Space, arrows, = and −), a Stream Deck key, or your phone as the remote.
For an Elgato Prompter or a second screen
Drag the Reframely window onto the prompter display, choose the prompter with its own screen preset and press F. See using the Elgato Prompter without Camera Hub.
For a Windows tablet in a rig
Use the Tablet in a glass rig preset, which mirrors the text, and pair your phone as the remote.

Keyboard shortcuts that matter on Windows
- Space plays and pauses; ↑ and ↓ move by a line; = and − change speed.
- F toggles full screen. Win+← or → snaps the window to half the screen, handy next to OBS or Teams.
- To keep the prompter visible above other windows, open the floating window from the More menu (Chrome and Edge).
Install it like an app
In Edge or Chrome, open the browser menu and choose Apps → Install Reframely (or Install page as app). It gets its own window and taskbar icon, opens offline after the first visit, and keeps your scripts in the same place.
